What are some ways to make Venetian masks?
I've decided I want to do some Venetian masks, so far all I've done for them is the aluminum face and then cover the front and back with paper mache. Can anyone give me some tips on how to make them, notice that I have to do it all from scratch, so I can not buy white masks.
Most craft stores carry mask making kits. Off the top of my head I can not remember what is in them, but you can always check the contents to see if it is cheaper to buy in bulk if you need to do a large number of them. It is basically gauze covered with a kind of specialized plaster. You put Vaseline on the face to prevent sticking, dip the strips always, and mold to your face. It takes very little time to dry, and then you have a mask fit. It is more important to get the Vaseline on the hair on his face. I missed a point on the edge of my eyebrows once, and I can not say I recommend the experience at all. You want to let them dry overnight before painting or adjust the external form whatsoever.
