Where I can get a dance costume stag beetle or a design that I can do for a child of 7 years?
My daughter is doing a dance and has been chosen to be a stag beetle? Help. I have no idea were to begin!
] [Laughing Well, I do not think you find your favorite store costumes. I can not imagine that is a bestseller. "Mom, forget the Power Rangers or XMen, this Halloween I want to be a stag beetle! "So it seems you have to do it. And since your dance show, she probably will have to go pretty well in it, which excludes any type of shell papermache hard as construction or cardboard. I would suggest the use of foam rubber and paint with latex house paint to give an appearance of shell. On the picture on the link, there are three main segments. The back went from her daughter's waist to the ankles. The middle section running from the shoulders to the waist. The head and jaws section would be a kind of hat. You can go two or three dimensions. Two dimensions, it would be a flat representation of the beetle shell that tie around her daughter's shoulders, waist, and head and would probably be the easiest thing to do. But she will not be very beetle-like from the side. Three dimensions work better, I think. That would be where a tube would back (as a kind of flamenco dress leakage of the word but it is distributed to the front allow movement). The middle section would be a kind of box, almost like an armored shell. And then the jaws can be attached to a cap of foam or register in some basis, maybe a baseball cap worn without the top or back. I hope that gave at least some warning, and they do not expect you to make this in two days. Good luck!
