How to teach young children breaststroke.?
I have been teaching swimming lessons for several years, but this period sessions I have a small child, about 7 who can not get the movement of the chest beating the life from him. Actually ends up going backwards and I've tried everything I can think of to teach … Does anyone have any advice on how to teach breaststroke kicking a child? I can not get your knees turn out so it ends up being a strange cross between a dolphin kick and someone who is struggling to swim … His freestyle and back are amazing though. Thanks in advance!
Do you know the elementary backstroke? Use a whip kick with his hands making a motion similar to a flapping motion to drive swimmer forward. It is similar to pinciple nothing like a squid. Comcentrate in teaching the first kick. Have your child float on their back. Do they have a kick board in the chest to them float a little better. There are 4 steps to the kick. 1) While floating on the horizontal surface of the water, the swimmer will bend your knees and place feet down. The knees should be together and near the water surface. His legs look shold like the letter "L". 2) Then they have extended their legs to form a V and extend the legs. 3) Then squeeze your legs together, which should push forwards. 4) The last step is to plan. Although this Not technically correct way to missing the whip is the starting point in which we teach children to understand the basic movement. Once the child has the idea of the kick while doing it in the back, flip over and have them practice the same movement while using the scooter. Teaching the first kick to the back is easier because the balance while doing this retreat is easier for beginners, while in the back after his forehead. While in the prone position visualze I have the children what they are doing. The first step I tell the kids to bring their butts heels. Then pretend to draw a circle with each heel. This will give the movement whip. This gives them the idea of what your feet should be doing.
