Make your own family Compilations

Music Fun for the Family.

It's easy to create your own playlist of music the family, teach your children about music that means something to you, and get to know them better through their music.

Step 1: Make a list.
This involves sitting around, maybe at dinner or on a car trip exchange of ideas and a list of favorite songs. This list should contain at least a few hundred song and may take several hours to compile. Do not be shy at this point to say what's on your mind, you can change later. (A good time for fans ABBA to confess) This list shall contain possible genres, see appendix for ideas. Five hundred songs would be a great start.

Tip: For more songs, print a list of the Internet look under the best songs ever on Google. See also my appendix with the list of artists.

Step 2: To listen to music.
This is really great fun. Turn off the TV and turn on the computer. Plug some decent speakers and download your favorite songs the list. You may have to register with Kazaa or other music download site reputation, but this should not last more than a few minutes, and most likely is that their children are enrolled. Now listen to the songs in your list together.

Each family member has the right to veto on the songs you really do not like (if they a good reason.) This may take several sessions some good, but it's fun and you can have a dance and sing in a
at the same time.

Continue this process until you have it down to about twenty to thirty songs. This list should contain some songs chosen by each family member. This will involve a certain level of commitment, but that's part of the fun.

Stage 3: The Final List
Use your final list to compile a CD of favorite music from your family. This is an excellent CD keep in the car, especially for long trips because it has something
for everything.

Note: You can repeat this activity over and over again and keep the CD as a souvenir family. This activity undoubtedly expand their children's appreciation for music, and you can learn a little yourself.
